I lost to Even Skaarer and Jörgen Björk but I won over all the other 67 shooters from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland and Finland. I am satisfied with a 3rd place at the Nordic Championship in PD because there was very tough competition.
Klaus, Peter and I took all the way from Copenhagen in car (a nice A6 Quattro 3.2 TDI) to Kongsvinger that’s only one hour drive from Norway’s capital Oslo. Kongsvinger has very beautiful scenery, but the town is very small and you have very few opportunities for eating and relaxing at a coffee shop, and it’s very expensive to be in Norway (and that coming from a Dane). But we came for shooting one of the most important matches of the year THE NORDIC CHAMPIONSHIP IN PRODUCTION 2007. This years competition was hard very hard and there were several good shooters who wanted to be Nordic Champion. Steiner was hunting a triple Nordic Championship, Jörgen Björk was defending his title and Even wanted it back (NC 2005). I could smell gold especial after Cops Cup where I beat almost all of them….so it was a close race! The program for the match was 9 stages Saturday and 4 stages Sunday so we where finish shooting before 12 o’clock on Sunday….nice. The first day of shooting was warm (32 degree Celsius) but there were pavilions on every stage so we could hide us from the strong sun. I started winning the first stage and it was a 32 round stage so it was a good start for me. The stages was designed and built for PD shooting and it was fun to shoot. The technical level was very low and the hit factor was low on almost every stage even the "speed shoots". There were 10 different shooting positions and we had to shoot a minimum of 230 rounds.
Even and I was relative close the first day, but I shot too many C´s on a couple of big stages, so my A % was only 76. The next day Even shot even better and I was to slow so he ran of with the gold, but I shot a good match and I am very satisfied with my shooting. You can see the results on www.triggerfreeze.com My next match will be SweDen Cup in Malmö so maybe I see you there…. See more pictures from the match |
